2008 - Anti-corruption Bureau in Bangladesh filed charge sheet for the first time in the case of corruption against former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia.

The five-member constitutional bench, chaired by Chief Justice KG Balakrishnan, upheld the constitutional validity of the local area development fund for the MPs, saying that Parliament has valid powers to allocate funds under it. Under this scheme, MPs get two crore rupees annually for the development of their constituencies.
